about icspac

The International Coalition for Sustainable Production and Consumption (ICSPAC) was created to provide a global information exchange and networking vehicle for civil society organizations working to change unsustainable production and consumption patterns.

While there are many different groups and individuals committed to achieving specific aspects of sustainable production and consumption, ICSPAC's goal is to build bridges and foster greater cooperation and mutual support among those group as a global social movement in the transition to sustainable economies.

ICSPAC was founded in 2001by members of the Sustainable Production and Consumption Caucus (SPAC Caucus) at the UN Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD). While the SPAC Caucus focuses primarily on the annual, 2-week meetings of the CSD, ICSPAC was created to help build a broader community of sustainability advocates working within a range of fora around the world.
