SPAC WatchSPAC Watch at WSSDAs a part of the SPAC Watch Campaign, a series of three side events were held at the Preparatory Commissions to the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) and the Summit itself. Each of the side events featured panel discussions on the progress towards sustainable production in a variety of sectors and fields. SIDE EVENT AT WSSD
Read the report "ACHIEVING SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION & CONSUMPTION: ESTABLISHING A 10-YEAR WORK PROGRAMME", the SPAC Watch side event held at the WSSD. Read the report of the Earth Negotiation Bulletin on the side event. WSSD also saw the release of the SPAC Watch report Waiting for Delivery [PDF]. With a global perspective of 17 authors from around the globe, Waiting for Delivery surveys several of the tools and policies used for implementing sustainable production and consumption, and examines specific sectors and issues. The report, published for the World Summit on Sustainable Development, closes with a proposal for a new civil society initiative to monitor and assess progress towards sustainable production and consumption. SIDE EVENT AT PREP COM 3 The aim of the event was to contribute a critically needed civil society perspective to the official PrepCom 3 discussion of the Chair's report addressing production and consumption.
