New SPAC Watch report

The next SPAC Watch report is aimed at the 2nd International Expert meeting on Sustainable Production and Consumption (Marrakech + 2) to be held in Costa Rica in September 2005. The report will focus on regional and national strategies and approaches to achieve sustainable production and consumption patterns. The report will pay special attention to the WSSD commitment to "take immediate steps to make progress in the formulation and elaboration of national strategies for sustainable development and begin their implementation by 2005". [Para 162(b) of the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation].

As currently planned, the report will be divided into five regional sections - and will emphasize regional trends in achieving SPAC patterns. The report will consider indicators, targets and timetables, and obstacles faced.
